I have always been fascinated by abstract drawing and painting - exploring space and perspective within surfaces, as well as the connections between color, shape, and form.
From my earliest works, the use of cut-outs as well as the re-use of materials has been a reoccurring method; creating collages from cut-out forms, or selecting cut-out forms from discarded paintings. The latter offer a novel character to existing works, as new playful compositions evolve from chance. As I throw the cut-outs on the surface of the works, they find their own destiny, position, harmony or friction, within the work.

A few years ago I expanded my practice to ceramics too. Embracing a material that could surprise me brought a myriad of new expressive gestures and forms. This third dimension has also recently become integral to a more holistic approach in which I combine painting, ceramics, woven or sewn textiles. Further to unfolding new possibilities of each medium, they also create challenging, or sometimes even unfathomable, spatial compositions.

I returned to Denmark in 2008 after graduating from both a Bachelor's and Master's degree at Edinburgh College of Art, UK. Since 1999 I have been exhibiting in solo and group exhibitions in Denmark, UK, Finland, Slovenia, and Germany. Over the past decades I have been the recipient of diverse prizes and scholarships including from Denmark, Finland, UK, and have participated in numerous residencies including in Denmark, Italy, Norway and UK. Public commissions include works in both Denmark and the UK. My works are also included in numerous private collections as well as Vendsyssel Kunstmuseum (DK).
